The Lesson

A trombone lesson gone wrong… really wrong.

Created, Directed, Produced, Written, Storyboarded, Edited, and Composed by Callan Milani

At the doorstep of The Lesson, Robin knocks and leaves his world behind. This Choose-Your-Own-Adventure illustrated musical follows Robin through from the threshold to The Outer Limits, a world with cyborgs, pirates, and adventure! The Lesson plays with audiation, the connection between music and the imagination, for audiences 10-14.

Robin

With no strength or strengths, Robin is your classic nerd struggling to do good. Robin’s lesson is a cautionary tale, but also a lesson for us all in the warrior’s way: fight to outwit his internal resistance.

Lord Kai

Half robot and half pedagogue, Lord Kai seized control of the Outer Limits with his mind controlling gameboy, but fills the band room with prisoners for fun.

Sawyer

A land-locked pirate and amateur flautist, Sawyer‘s 10 A.M. flute lesson turns into an arduous duet with Robin.

Choose Your Own Adventure

We invite the crowd to decide Robin’s musical destiny.

Through 3 possible paths, Robin discovers out what kind of hero he will be.

The Stygian Sea

The Stygian Sea is unlike any body of water. The pitch black currents are home to sea monsters, tidal waves, and the scurviest pirate, Rough Sailin’ Sid.

The Bosque

The Bosque has no difference between the forest and the trees, but creatures hide in the shadows especially the frappe loving crown jewel, Kween.

The Summit of Spikes

The Summit of Spikes is a jagged range of frozen flat irons. The blizzard infested lands are sewn by the ramen yielding abominable snowman, Himiblámidon.

Boss Mode!

Meet your match!

Rough Sailin’ Sid

The Captain of Poseidon’s Cry and leader of the Scum Crew, Rough Sailin’ Sid sails the Stygian Sea without adult supervision.

Kween

She lives in darkness, inspirational quotes, and posters of her favorite rock starsss, Kween sips frappés by day and controls The Bosque by night.

Himiblámidon

A relative of the abominable snowman, Himiblámidon loves to cook ramen in his massive snow cave overlooking his kingdom, the Summit of Spikes.
